Visit To Children With HIV/AIDS

ON the 22nd of December, Me and a group of friends visited Rumah Wake to celebrate christmas with the children there. This is a very interesting event to share personally..By the Way, Rumah Wake is at Setapak,KL. First of all, due to some 'unforeseen' circumstances (Bin's car went the wrong way..=p) so it didn't really go as planned as first. We were suppose to have dinner first..haha. We reached Setapak RIGHT ON TIME and everyone was cooperative to visit the children first although some of them were starving..(Ping.hehe) I just remembered..I didn't even have the chance to eat the biscuits from macau..=(
I would say that celebrating christmas with the children was an interesting experience. They were all really friendly..and they respected us. It's hard to believe that these wonderful children were in the position of having AIDS.Innocence.
We started with an icebreaker to know all the children better and well..'break the ice'. Oh yea..Thanks to Clement and Jing for thinking of the games..=) Well, we only had 2 hours to do everything so the whole programme was quite packed. I have no idea what the name of the games were..but i'll just name it as to how i feel it should be named..=p I remembered some 'bomb country','banana', 'spiderman/superman'..that's just to name a few..There were plenty more games actually.
Before that, there were about 16 children(including baby) in the house and 10 of us. I was really happy seeing how some children enjoyed themselves running around and having fun while playing games..Just brings the smile to my face..^_^
You gotta go to feel the experience..so therefore i shall cut the story shorter. After playing the games..we started singing christmas songs together with the children. Some of the songs were 12 days of christmas!(Edwin loves it), We wish you a merry christmas, jingle bells, and many more! I love the atmosphere when everyone sits around in a circle and sing..personally..it gives me a really good feeling.
Well, after singing..before we could realise..2 hours has passed. We quickly rushed to get the gifts and passed to the children. By the time that ended, It was already 10. I think the worst thing about everything for me was saying goodbye to the children. I have no idea when i might come back to see them again..I hope i do..
STARVING!..We drove to SS2 to eat..there's some story in between such as me making a wrong turn but nobody wants to hear that right? =D..That's about it! I REALLY recommend celebrating christmas with the unfortunates..it's an experience worth while..Trust me!
You might be wondering why there's no pictures..Well, due to the children's background..we cannot take pictures..therefore the memories are only in our minds! haha..
Anyways, I'll write the names so that i can remember who went..haha..

Cellphone Causes Cancer..True?

I was really curious when i hear lots of people saying that cellphones can cause cancer..so i decided to do some research on the internet on whether cellphones cause cancer..this is the article i found..

-3-case control studies-
First, the patients with brain cancer did not report more cellular phone use overall than the controls. This finding was true when all brain cancers were considered as a group, when individual types of brain cancer were considered, and when specific locations within the brain were considered. In fact, most of the studies showed a tendency toward a lower risk of brain cancer among cellular phone uses, for unclear reasons.
Second, none of the studies showed a "dose-response relationship" -- a tendency for the risk of brain cancer to increase with increasing cellular phone use, which would be expected if cellular phone use caused brain cancer.
Third, the studies did not show a clear link between the side of the head on which the brain cancer occurred and the side on which the cellular phone was used (with the possible exception of the Swedish study).
Results of the long-term cohort study, which linked data on all of the 420,095 cellular telephone users in Denmark between 1982 and 1995 to the Danish Cancer Registry, agree with the findings of the case-control studies. Cellular phone use, even for more than 10 years, was not associated with an increased risk of developing brain tumors or cancer overall, nor was there an association with any brain tumor subtypes or with tumors in any location within the brain. As in the case-control studies, no link was found between brain tumor risk and RF dose, as assessed by length of cellular phone use, date since first subscription, age at first subscription, or type of cellular phone used.

In summary, there is now considerable epidemiologic evidence that shows no consistent association between cellular phone use and overall risk of brain cancer. Some uncertainty remains regarding a possible association with acoustic neuromas. Several large studies now in progress will add markedly to the evidence within a few years.

I read a number of articles and a few articles states that it is inconclusive..so it's up to you to believe whichever article you want about whether cellphones really do cause cancer or not..thanks

Finished Trials! 2 weeks hols!

I recently finished my Trials and i'm sick...how lucky..! I've been sick for about a week now..from a terrible sore throat to intense coughing..sigh..Oh well..At least i have 2 weeks to fix myself..Anyways..Last Saturday, I attended the IMU charity run/carnival with a group of my friends.. I almost couldn't make it because i was sick..=/ I was looking forward to it 2 months ago so nothing's gonna stop me from going..muahaha..=/. I would say that the event was..interesting..lots of stuff around and loads of sponsorship..but limited amount of toilets. hehe..the top floor was locked so I had to walk a long way to the toilet..haha..and i think I could've mistakenly gone into the female's toilet..It was all pink..! (But there isn't a sign..so i guess it's okay..) Next time you attend this kind of carnival..make sure you come earlier..I think the carnival was suppose to be from 8am-4pm..but by 12, most of the good stuffs or food have been sold out. I know because i reached at 11.30..=p. IMU should sell batteries because i didn't buy any batteries for my camera..so i had to quickly take pics before my batteries dries out..=p Oh well, I had a great time..! (although i miss the run..but hey, IT'S FOR CHARITY!) =)

Chem Car Celebration!

The PM7 group won 2nd place for the recent chemical car competition and we collected our RM150 reward to use it all on none other than KFC! Mr.Seo..our wonderful Physics teacher..who helped us out on the chemical car joined us for the celebration =) I'll show you the pics of the car that we constructed next time..it's really really funny how we managed to win 2nd place with one hour of really funny work..i'll tell ya the story next time ^_^..Anyways here are the pics that i took during lunch..=)

Free Time During Physics

Ever wonder what everyone should do during lessons? Wei Shan was extra high today so i took the advantage to take a pic of me and her playing light sabers with metre rules.. 10 years from now..we'll be wondering why we did that..probably cuz we were too bored haha..(i haven't finished my physics practical!)..Anyways..Dexy joined in the fun to pose light sabers with Wei Shan as well..honestly..i thought it was a fun way to express ourselves..haha..nice way to relax..^_^ We seriously too free nothing to do..=p

Fun at Taylor's Musical Night!

On the 21st of July..I attended the Taylor's Musical Night..It was a great night although there was one major problem with the time management. It was suppose to start at 7(started at 8) and it was suppose to end at 9.30 but instead it ended at 12a.m....Well..I couldn't see all the performances because i had to go back at 10.30...unfortunately...i really wanted to see the all the performances because they seemed great..!
Throughout the night i was grooving with the music..especially the Jazz performance..Stanley was looking absolutely delighted with the Jazz music..(moving his head from left to right...=p)Well..There is nothing much i can say..You gotta be there to know! and Feel..it..
Oh yea...I'm really sorry i couldn't see Zheng Hwuang's performance..It's the TIME..! =(

Volunteered at P.A.W.S!

On the 26th of June..I went to P.A.W.S.(Progressive Animal Welfare Society) together with my friends(Bert,Bin,Jing,Shan). Hmm..something funny appeared even before we entered PAWS..The door seemed locked and we tried pulling it..Then I have to call the staff and the staff said 'you can push the door or jump over the fence'..and that's when i realised it was opened after all..hmm..i didn't know we were suppose to go earlier since i booked from 12-3 but i guess it was okay..Petting cats was kinda fun except cats dun really bother about ya..They just walk around ignoring everyone around them..(Wei Shan doesn't like cats..=/) After about 30 minutes of petting and 'grooming' cats..(i said 'grooming' because Hwai Jing took out a wiper to apparently 'groom' the cats..haha..=p)..We went to entertain the dogs!..While walking towards the staffroom..Hwai Jing realised the cat cage was opened and some of the cats came out of the cage. We quickly ran and grabbed the cats to put them into the cage..maybe it is true what Hwai Jing said about 'we are causing more trouble to PAWS then helping them'..
Soon enough..We went to play with the puppies for about more than 30 minutes i think..because Wai Bin said the most he can play with his dogs is about 30 minutes only..=/
After that we had a bit of rest..discussing about whether we want to walk the dogs or take the dogs for a bath..Hwai Jing REALLY wants to shower the dogs..but it's going to be wet..so we ended up not bathing any dogs..(you can come my house anytime to take my dog for a bath..it's really dirty =p)
We walked the dogs (the adult dogs are much easier to handle than the puppies)..The puppies wouldn't even budge..Even after giving delicious doggy treats! yummy..
Alright..After walking the dogs..then it was 3o'clock..We left PAWS and had our lunch at Subang Parade..Overall, in my opinion, i had my fun and it was really funny kinda think of it..=p All of us smelt of PAWS by the end of the day..=/
Imagine these animals are surrended animals and some are previously abused animals..Give them a chance for love and care..For less than RM100..you can adopt a dog at PAWS..So GO! GO! GO! Trust me..dogs bring more healthy benefits than harm..hehe..=)

On the 15th of June, I hung out with my friends at midvalley to catch a movie..Everyone was punctual except the people in Wai Bin's car..(you know who you are). This is cool man..Bertrand message about no petrol and pushing wai bin's car is unbelievable at first..But then..Eee Lin added the message which seriously made me believe it..So i called them..And plus..I don't know somehow Jason Fong's voice in the phone was really convincing that they were pushing the car..'yea, we're pushing the car...going to reach shell already'-damn bloody good lie wei..=/
By the way..they were late cuz they couldn't find Eee Lin's house..and apparently she had to walk..=(..hehe..
Anyways..We ate at Nando's and watched Fantastic 4..(Ratings for Fantastic 4 - 7/10)..not bad..
Overall..it's cool but the main attraction is definitely Jessica Alba..(better than ever!)=p
We went to McD twice in the same day..haha..At the end of the day..Dexy and Co.=p went to get ice-cream from McD but then really surprised me with a birthday cake..Thanks guys! I will never forget it =)

I Joined the 'Relay For Life' !

From the 2nd-3rd June..I joined the 'Relay for Life' and signed myself as a volunteer..Chi Foong and Wai Bin came along with me..Other people probably busy studying since it was one week before our semester EXAM! =/. Anyways, it was fun..at first we don't know what to do because it was crowded and it was a bit disorganised =/. But...we managed to sneak ourselves into the volunteer booth and helped out..hehe..It was absolutely great! especially the people working together with us at the booth(Dr.Dalilah, Mr.Chew, Indra)..and of course the busy Mr.Ravi-our volunteer captain. We ate Chicken Rice Shop chicken rice..=p..absolutely delicious..hehe. After that, at 7pm sharp when the programme is suppose to start..It was raining heavily..At 7.30 when the rain subsided to drizzling..the cancer survivors walked the first lap with everyone cheering them..COOL!..thinking that they once had cancer, It was a great feeling looking at how healthy and happy they were..These people fought hard to battle cancer so nothing is impossible once you have the faith to do it..Trust me..And here comes the pictures..

We met up at Sunway Piramid to celebrate her birthday..=) Overall, it was an interesting birthday and as usual..i had my fun..=D. McDonald's Rulez!..haha...We had some delicious Pizza from Pizza Hut~(1300-88-2525)..i forgot what pizza i ate..(but i didn't get any allergies so it is definitely not Atlantis Pizza or whatchama call it) Jason Yong and I left a bit early to find a cake for e von ne..but WHAT THE HELL??
